About the role
Event Childcare Staff
The Petite Presence provides professional child care at private and public events throughout the GTA. Our team creates a safe, welcoming and engaging space where children can play, create and enjoy the celebration while staying close to their parents.
This is casual, event-based part-time work. Shifts depend on confirmed bookings and may vary in date, time, duration, venue and location. Events often take place on evenings, weekends and holidays. There is no guaranteed minimum number of shifts or hours.
What you will do
Your Role at Each Event
- Actively supervise and care for children during events
- Create a safe, welcoming and engaging environment
- Join in age-appropriate games, crafts and activities
- Interact professionally with parents, guardians, clients and event staff
- Help set up and take down the child care area when required
- Keep the child care space clean and organized
- Follow The Petite Presence safety procedures
- Report accidents, injuries, behavioural concerns or safety issues immediately
- Take reasonable care of company toys, equipment and supplies
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with children

- Able to use good judgment and ask for help when a situation is beyond your training or authority
Qualifications
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking qualified, experienced caregivers. Preference is given to candidates with relevant experience or education in areas such as:
Early childhood education · Child and youth care · Teaching or education · Child care · Recreation programming · Camp or youth programming · Professional caregiving
Current First Aid and CPR certification may be required for the position.
A satisfactory Police Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check may also be required where applicable.
The event experience
Child Care, Designed Around the Celebration
Every event is different. One evening may mean crafts and games during a wedding reception. Another may involve creating a quiet play space during a corporate celebration. Our team adapts to the venue, the children attending and the flow of the event while keeping safety and attentive supervision at the centre of everything we do.
Scheduling
Flexible, Event-Based Shifts
- Shifts are offered based on confirmed client bookings
- Dates, times and locations vary
- Evening and weekend availability is especially valuable
- You may decline any shift you are offered
- Once you accept a shift, we rely on you to attend for the agreed event time
- There are no guaranteed minimum hours or shifts
